Treasurer Responsibilities
The Township Treasurer’s Office is responsible for maintaining all funds of the township. The Treasurer is also a voting member of the Township Board.
The Treasurer is also responsible for collecting real and personal property taxes, disbursing Township checks, depositing Township funds in approved depositories, investing Township funds in approved investment vehicles, collecting delinquent personal property taxes, and issuing dog licenses.
Property Taxes
Real and Personal Property taxes are collected by the Township from July 1st through February 28th each year. Summer taxes are due and payable from July 1st through September 14th. Winter taxes are due and payable from December 1st through February 28th. When the due date falls on a weekend, the final day is the first business day following the due date. When it is a leap year, the last day to pay taxes becomes February 29th. Beginning the following March 1st, delinquent real property taxes are transferred to the Saginaw County Treasurer for collection.

Summer Taxes
Summer taxes are payable from July 1st through September 14th without interest or penalty. If the due date falls on the weekend, the next business day will be the due date for that year. After the due date, there will be a 1% interest monthly charge added to the tax. You may still pay the Summer tax until February 28th, which is the last day tax payments are accepted at the Township level.
Deferred Summer real property taxes are exempt from interest and penalty through February 28th. Applications for deferment of summer taxes may be mailed to or picked up by eligible Township residents. Please file this form with the Township Treasurer.
Winter Taxes
Winter taxes are payable from December 1st through February 28th without interest or penalty. If the due date falls on the weekend, the next business day becomes the due date for that year. If it is a leap year, the due date becomes February 29th.
Accepted Payment Forms
All tax payments can be made with cash, check, money order, cashier’s check, and credit card. Please note that there are credit card fees that do apply. Please make checks payable to: Taymouth Township Treasurer. Post dated checks are not accepted. If those checks are cashed, the Township or Treasurer are not held liable. You may make these payments by person during business hours, drop box, mail, or online.
Dog Licenses
Dog Licenses are available for purchase at the Township from December 1st through February 28th. If after February 28th, you may purchase your dog license at the Saginaw County Treasurer’s Office.
